BENGAL PREP FOR 2011 TRYOUTS, REBUILDING EFFORT
(Feb. 8, 2011) — After reaching the 2010 Sunset Regional semifinals last season, the Bonanza baseball team is reloading for the 2011 season as tryouts loom large on Feb. 26.
All interested players must have a completed physical and their own equipment to try out. All players must be inside the dugout by the 9 a.m. deadline. Any late players will be turned away. Athletes will be scouted and the team lists will be posted when school resumes Tuesday morning following the three-day weekend.
"We're excited to finally get things in full swing for this spring's season," coach Derek Stafford said. "We graduated a large amount of seniors last year so it's time for this year's group to step into their roles. It's always an exciting time for the players and the coaching staff."
Full mandatory practice will begin for both the varsity and JV teams Tuesday immediately after school on the baseball field as preparation will begin for the March 10th season opener against Palo Verde in the 2nd annual Charleston Series, which this year will feature a third team — Arbor View — in the round robin battle for bragging rights.
League play opens March 22 at Pahrump Valley High School.
