    (April 2, 2008) – Senior Chasen Shreve belted a tape-measure home run and struck out 11 batters on the mound to help lead Bonanza's baseball team to its first league win as the Bengals defeated Clark, 15-0, Wednesday afternoon.

    Kris Bryant also hit a deep home run -- his fourth of the season -- and doubled for Bonanza (8-8, 1-2 SW), which scored in every inning but one. Chris Antoku added a double and four RBI while David Pettis drove in a pair with a two-base hit as well.

    "We needed to get on the board in league and we took care of business today," Bonanza coach Derek Stafford said. "Chasen was dominant today and we needed a stopper from our senior and got it."

    Shreve finished 2-for-3 to raise his season average to .500 in adding his fourth home run of the season. The win puts Bonanza 1 1/2 games back of first place Gorman, who host the Bengals at Hadland Park next Tuesday at 5 p.m. Bonanza returns to action Friday at Green Valley in a non-league match-up with the perennial power.
