(March 10, 2011) — Bonanza's bullpen was unable to finish off a strong performance by Braiden Gray on Thursday afternoon, as Palo Verde took the lead off of Mike Hoyes in the seventh inning and held on for a 5-4 win.

Palo Verde (1-0) scored all five runs in the final two innings to claim the victory. The Panthers scored two runs in the sixth and three runs in the seventh. Gray struck out 10 while Joe Merino went 3-for-3 with two doubles in the loss for Bonanza, which returns to action Friday on the road against Arbor View.
